ELT Songs and Vision Education taking English to a whole new level

Groundbreaking news from the world of English learning for 5 to 12 year olds: ELT Songs and Vision Education are taking English for kids to a whole new level with the “Planet Pop” learning platform. By joining forces, we are opening up a completely new language galaxy for children and young people. Studying English for kids thus reaches a new dimension, making language learning an unforgettable experience.

Who is behind Planet Pop?

Planet Pop is the innovative partnership of two startups that aim to revolutionise language learning. The ELT Songs team has produced hundreds of songs and videos for the top five ELT publishers. Vision Education contributes many years of experience in language learning technologies.

Ultimately, phase6 – the technology behind Vision Education’s platform – offers the only app in Germany that delivers individualised vocabulary learning for all leading language books, through its close collaboration with the leading German textbook publishers.

Have learning materials arrived in the 21st century?

Teachers know it, parents too: kids can spend a lot of time on YouTube or Netflix, but as soon as they arrive at school, their concentration can vanish after a few minutes of lessons.

“As a father, I have dealt with this issue very intensively. I took my son’s feedback to heart when designing Planet Pop,” says Jake Carter, CEO and Founder of ELT Songs. Most English materials and learning methods in the 21st century have not been brought up-to-date and are not adequately geared to children’s interests.

Learning 2.0 – Update for language teaching in primary school

Kids want to be motivated and involved in lessons. When this happens, their brain cells are activated and their learning is anchored in their long-term memory.

This methodology is the basis for the new Planet Pop learning platform. Exciting content such as English games for kids is known to arouse children’s curiosity and improve their attention, also increasing the motivation for learning. The good old motto applies here: “Tell me and I forget; teach me and I may remember; involve me and I learn.”

Instilling a hands-on mentality in children is the best way to achieve incredible results – both in online and offline classrooms.

Successful concept: English teaching meets new-generation entertainment

Vision Education’s globally-recognised English curriculum, translated into music videos, creates a fully immersive learning experience supported by extensive learning materials. Its impact lies in interactive and gamified learning. In addition, the learning method is based on scientifically-proven principles of language acquisition, which prove that music-based learning works and motivates. Thus, language learning has also arrived in the 21st century.

This corresponds to the levels of the Cambridge Young Learners Curriculum. Planet Pop takes English vocabulary for kids to a new galaxy of English learning, featuring 126 units, 816 videos and a variety of interactive exercises.

Digital and analogue learning

In addition to the digital platform, the Planet Pop concept also includes workbooks for students and teachers, written by renowned authors from the language education industry. In addition, the Planet Pop universe offers teacher training videos on various topics to support both teachers and learners in the best possible way.

Vision Education with two new clients: Oxford University Press and Berlitz Japan

We have some great news for you! VE with two new clients: Oxford University Press and Berlitz Japan.  The partnership is part of our SAAS (Software as a Service) model. Both providers rely on our world-leading and highly flexible technical platform.

What convinced our new education partners?

“Our technical platform, on which our two own apps “LearnMatch” and “LearnMatch Business” are also operated, convinced our new customers,” says Manfred Kastner, founder of Vision Education. With the successful concept of flexibility and the extensive possibilities, the platform was able to win over our partners in the language learning industry.

With the “Oxford English Vocabulary Trainer 2”, OUP acts as its own publisher worldwide. The Vision Education team was responsible for creating the app and integrating OUP’s high-quality content into the app. The app is available worldwide and already has a large number of users. OUP, as the largest university publisher in the world, embodies the vision: “Education can change lives”, and therefore OUP actively shapes the future of education.

The partnership with Berlitz Japan is based on the business part of the Vision Education platform – the “LearnMatch Business” app and was implemented in cooperation with a Japanese distribution partner. The focus here is particularly on children who want to learn English in a playful way. Children can pick up the nuances of a foreign language much easier and faster and are quite capable of speaking without an accent. Therefore, the focus of this collaboration is primarily on pronunciation exercises and an adequate implementation and presentation of the corresponding content.

A collaboration between the revolutionary online model community from Barcelona and our language learning app is thus forging a new path for interest-based language learning.

What does a model need in the 21st century?

The modelling world is more diverse than ever. All the models of today need not only great charisma and other prerequisites, but they also need an understanding of the business of modelling and the main language of the industry – English. Moreover, the fashion industry has always struggled with the recurring problem of the lack of English skills of many of its up and coming models.

A considerable number of careers fail due to insufficient communication between international companies and models. ModelManagement.com and LearnMatch have addressed this problem to render it easier for newcomers to enter and thrive in the fashion industry. Established models can also benefit from this concept. They are enabled to refresh their English skills and fill in knowledge gaps relating to the Dos & Don’ts of the fashion industry.

Through the use of multimedia content, models are motivated to stay focused and continue to hone their skills. The content produced by the Model Academy is coordinated with learning content from the English4Models course. These two modules complement each other and are perfectly suited to deepen the learning of users. Successful models reveal essential insights from their modelling experience. That way they help newcomers to gain a foothold in the modelling business.

With great English skills and stunning charisma, an international career must be round the corner. We are convinced that future graduates of the Model Academy and the English4Models courses will find many doors opening. Moreover, dissatisfied customers at castings will soon be a thing of the past.

Partnership with the Austrian Construction Guild

Vision Education is delighted by its partnership with the Austrian Construction Guild. Thanks to its ‘LearnMatch Business’ language-learning tool, it is now offering specialist German vocabulary for the construction industry

The construction trade is, without question, one of the most important drivers of the Austrian economy. One of the core points of the Federal Guild of Construction’s mission statement revolves around the transfer of knowledge. As part of further training courses, special attention is paid to teaching German in an industry-specific way.  ‘LearnMatch Business’ is considerably improving and, at the same time, making the communication among employees at the construction industry’s professional association much easier.

Multilingualism on construction sites? No problem!

The construction industry is indisputably one of the sectors of the country’s economy that are known for their international workforce. According to the monthly figures published by the BUAK (the Construction Workers’ Leave and Severance Fund), in 2019, a total of around 130,000 people were employed by Austrian companies. 37% (about 50,000) of these employees come from countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland, or Hungary.

This makes construction sites a place of multilingualism. German is nevertheless considered to be the primary language of communication there. The technical vocabulary offered by LearnMatch Business was created in close collaboration with the Austrian construction industry. It offers the ideal industry-specific solution in this regard. Ultimately it guarantees that work can proceed smoothly. The language that is being learned, German, is taught bilingually with 17 different native languages.

Digital learning to boost both understanding and productivity

Thanks to the partnership WITH the Austrian Construction Guild and Vision Education, employees from an array of countries can receive tailor-made vocabulary and language training in their own native tongue. The ‘LearnMatch’ app’s intuitive and playful user interface enables them to quickly learn basic vocabulary related to everyday life.  But they can also build up specialist vocabulary.

As the saying goes: if you want to build a tall tower, you need to spend a long time on the foundation. And in this case, the foundation is the language we have in common.

Eat the Ball – new generation bread

Don’t play with your food, wasn’t that what they said?

We love languages. But we also have other passions. Food. Good food. We really enjoy eating – big time. Eat the Ball means that we can now pursue this passion. Our new partner gets you salivating while also awakening your “hunger for languages”. We’re delighted by this cooperation!

What is Eat the Ball?

Eat the Ball is an innovative Austrian company based in Salzburg. In 2012, they launched the world’s first branded bread, establishing a new category of functional branded bread at the same time.

How did it all start?

It all started in 2007 with a question: Why are there no real bread brands? The answer was sobering. Highly important foods, such as bread, are only marketed within generic categories. Marketing of genuine, distinguishable branded products with individual quality characteristics? Error 404, not found.

Who’s behind Eat the Ball?

The question they asked in 2007 kept bothering Michael Hobel and Norbert Kraihamer. Their interest in bread and brands kept buzzing around their brains for years. In 2012, they decided to launch Eat the Ball in Austria. In 2013, they took their first steps towards Germany and the USA. Their goal is to establish the world’s first real bread brand.

How is Eat the Ball bread made?

Eat the Ball is made using the innovative technology pro.ferment.iced®, which enables bread to be produced in special shapes. This is a patented production process that relies on slow cooking processes at low temperatures. It results in a completely natural bread from Austria that stays fresh for longer. Before Eat the Ball, there had basically been no recent innovations on the bread market. This is why EtB is also referred to as “new generation bread”.

An important contribution to sustainability in the food industry

Bread is not particularly popular among today’s generation. As a result, EtB would like to jazz up this staple food of years gone by, especially for their young target group. Eat the Ball’s new bread-making technology is also making an important contribution to sustainability. The bread’s shelf life is an important step in the fight against food waste: the patented production process makes bread that naturally stays fresh for longer and contains valuable nutrients.

We share the same vision for future generations. That is also why we wanted to collaborate with people whose values are the same as ours. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.
