Eat the Ball – new generation bread

Don’t play with your food, wasn’t that what they said?

We love languages. But we also have other passions. Food. Good food. We really enjoy eating – big time. Eat the Ball means that we can now pursue this passion. Our new partner gets you salivating while also awakening your “hunger for languages”. We’re delighted by this cooperation!

What is Eat the Ball?

Eat the Ball is an innovative Austrian company based in Salzburg. In 2012, they launched the world’s first branded bread, establishing a new category of functional branded bread at the same time.

How did it all start?

It all started in 2007 with a question: Why are there no real bread brands? The answer was sobering. Highly important foods, such as bread, are only marketed within generic categories. Marketing of genuine, distinguishable branded products with individual quality characteristics? Error 404, not found.

Who’s behind Eat the Ball?

The question they asked in 2007 kept bothering Michael Hobel and Norbert Kraihamer. Their interest in bread and brands kept buzzing around their brains for years. In 2012, they decided to launch Eat the Ball in Austria. In 2013, they took their first steps towards Germany and the USA. Their goal is to establish the world’s first real bread brand.

How is Eat the Ball bread made?

Eat the Ball is made using the innovative technology pro.ferment.iced®, which enables bread to be produced in special shapes. This is a patented production process that relies on slow cooking processes at low temperatures. It results in a completely natural bread from Austria that stays fresh for longer. Before Eat the Ball, there had basically been no recent innovations on the bread market. This is why EtB is also referred to as “new generation bread”.

An important contribution to sustainability in the food industry

Bread is not particularly popular among today’s generation. As a result, EtB would like to jazz up this staple food of years gone by, especially for their young target group. Eat the Ball’s new bread-making technology is also making an important contribution to sustainability. The bread’s shelf life is an important step in the fight against food waste: the patented production process makes bread that naturally stays fresh for longer and contains valuable nutrients.

We share the same vision for future generations. That is also why we wanted to collaborate with people whose values are the same as ours. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.

Vision Education in the Finals! :O

Yes, Vision Education actually made the FINAL! But no, it’s not what you think. It wasn’t a football final. 😛 We made it to the EdTechXEurope Final!

We were among the TOP 20 EdTechXGlobal Award 2019 Startup Finalists at EdTechXEurope. This position put us in good company, alongside CENTURY Tech, StudySmarter, Eduten, New Campus, iHeed and Chalk. Being surrounded by such inspiring business minds truly enriched us.

Vision Education as a Finalist

But what is EdTechXEurope?

EdTechXEurope is the learning community’s largest get-together. It took place for the 7th time this year. The awards ceremony was held on 18 June in London’s The Brewery. Over 900 thinkers from over 60 countries came together to exchange ideas, innovations and technologies. “Learning is the New Tech” was the motto. Awards were presented in three categories: EdTechXGlobal Startup Awards, EdTechXGlobal Scale-Up Awards and EdTechXGlobal Impact Awards. Vision Education was nominated in the EdTechXGlobal Startup category. There the focus was on the most significant innovation and the biggest growth in 2018. A global jury had to consider a number of factors, including scale and market impact. The same jury selected the finalists and winners of the EdTechXGlobal Startup.

We warmly congratulate the winners in each category. Also we look forward to remaining connected with them in the years to come. Together we can contribute and make this world a better place. We are convinced of that.

fleoo.net wins BUS2BUS Pitch 2019

Dear LearnMatch friends,

fleoo.net wins BUS2BUS Pitch 2019 with Vision Education as a strong partner on board!

On March 19th, 2019, BUS2BUS took place in Berlin. The Startup Pitches jury – consisting of journalists, venture capital donors and representatives of the bus industry – awarded startup fleoo.net with the first prize. fleoo.net convinced the jury of the innovation enshrined in its language learning and navigation app for bus drivers, which is based on the phase6 Berufe app and developed by Vision Education.

What is fleoo.net?

fleoo.net knows that international drivers are crucial for the modern bus industry. However, in their opinion, a lack of language and local knowledge poses a problem, as it leads to extended and unproductive training periods and causes expensive mistakes. The fleoo assistance package overcomes language barriers, promotes language competence, documents progress and, for example, gets bus drivers work-ready in no time. fleoo.net also helps to prevent 96% of mistakes.

How exactly does the app work?

fleoo.net is divided into fleoo.nav, fleoo.com and fleoo.ml. fleoo.nav supports bus drivers to manage scheduled services, learns all stops and danger points and helps inexperienced drivers stick to the timetable. fleeo.com networks dispatching, traffic management and drivers, provides pictures and position data. In this way, language barriers are managed easily and faults are reported correctly. fleoo.microlessons enables drivers to train in their chosen language independently of time and place. Technical terms are learned and the exchange of information with passengers is facilitated.

But what is BUS2BUS?

As a high-end platform for bus companies, bus manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and visionaries, BUS2BUS helps to enliven the industry with new ideas and solutions. BUS2BUS functions as a combination of a trade fair with a comprehensive range of products, a congress and a Future Forum, at which new future markets are jointly developed.

We are very proud to be part of this success story and wish to continue to share such victories with our partners in the future.
